Failed to retrieve directory listing on FileZilla and cPanel
If you are getting the following error when trying to access FTP via FileZilla and you are using cPanel
Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing
Do the following to resolve this issue:
- Open the below port range on your server:
49152 - 65535
- Open the port range on your cPanel as well (Home > Plugins > ConfigServer Security & Firewall > csf > Firewall Configuration then scroll down to TCP_IN and TCP_OUT, and add the following port range in both:
49152:65535
- Restart your firewall
You are done. Try to login now.
